Tell us a tale, and take your time.
There’s plenty of it, yours and mine.
We don’t mind tangents or lost trains of thought.
The art is in the telling. It’s our favourite sport.
The story itself is neither here nor there.
But the energy in which shared, must be of care.
The livelier, the better. Make it embellished and bold.
Or details will be altered when the tale’s retold.
The only part that matters, that must be got right.
Is that your tale is told with a heart that is light.

Our story, we share,
with loving care.

Our wine journey started back in 2018 when we visited the Clare Valley for a lazy, long weekend and stumbled upon Blocks Road. It wasn’t part of the plan, but something about the place spoke to us. It felt like a happy accident, an opportunity to build something more meaningful—our legacy for generations to come. Long story short, we went for it and have never looked back.
-
We both grew up in the North-East of Scotland, where storytelling is an important way to share experiences and connect with family and friends. Grant’s Granda Willie—stoic and witty —would sit in his favourite armchair and tell loooong, meandering tales, often forgetting the point but never the joy. And Linzi’s dad has never been short of a yarn when bumping into a familiar face.
-
But why are we telling you about our history and family of storytellers? Well, it's because these influences run deep in us. They’ve shaped how we connect, share, and ultimately, how we’ve approached Anthologist Wines; which for us is a way to connect—to share a laugh, a tale, a lesson and a glass, and sometimes even a bottle.

A vineyard home,

Our little vineyard on Blocks Road sits at the heart of the Clare Valley’s ‘Golden Mile’ and, like us, has many stories to tell.
When we bought the property in 2018, it was in need of some serious TLC, but we saw the opportunity before us—the potential to have a positive and lasting impact on the property, to build something of our own and create a legacy for our children and future generations to enjoy.
Since then, we’ve thrown ourselves into revitalising the vineyard. We’ve planted Malbec, Shiraz and Saperavi on the old Olive Grove block and high-quality clones of Cabernet alongside Eyre Creek. -
We’ve worked hard to bring the old Riesling back to life and have made good progress in terms of fruit quality and consistency—although we won’t talk about those recent frost years where we harvested barely a berry. In Vintage 2023, we were rewarded for our effort with a healthy crop all around and decided to set aside some fruit for ourselves, which was the birth of Anthologist Wines.
But for us it’s not just about the vines. We’ve worked hard to care for and regenerate the land itself—clearing Eyre Creek of woody weeds, planting native grasses in the mid-row and insectary species at ends of the rows, installing bat boxes amongst the towering eucalypts, and gradually welcoming local birds and bugs back to the site. -
Our vineyard is now very proudly Sustainable Winegrowing Australia (SWA) certified and we continue to work to a tailored action plan devised to support and guide our environmental stewardship and enhance local biodiversity.
We’re passionately committed to improving our little patch—day by day, year on year—because we don't just want to make wine. We want to create something that lasts—a legacy of care and place.
